The Lotus Method

A little more clarity.
A more considered way.

Five connected parts give our coaching conversations a shape, while leaving room for your experience, your priorities and your pace.

A framework to return to.
Room to move at your pace.

Some conversations need listening. Others need a closer look at a familiar pattern, or support to take a small step. We can move between these parts as your life changes.

The lotus is a visual reminder that growth can begin in imperfect conditions. It is a metaphor for the coaching approach, rather than a promise about how change will happen.

01 / A place to start

Listen

First, space to hear yourself.

When you spend your days responding to other people, your own experience can become background noise. We begin by slowing the conversation down.

You can talk about what is happening, what feels difficult and what you have not yet found words for. There is no need to make your situation sound more serious — or more manageable — than it feels.

“What have I been carrying that needs to be heard?”

02 / Find your bearings

Orientation

Get a clearer view of where you are.

Before deciding what to change, it helps to notice the whole picture: the demands, the choices, the supports and the values that matter to you.

We explore the difference between what is expected of you and what you want to make room for. A useful direction can begin with one priority, rather than a complete life plan.

03 / Care for the foundations

Tend

Include yourself in the care you give.

Sustainable choices need room to take root. Together, we notice the foundations that may need attention: time, boundaries, replenishment and the way you speak to yourself.

This is not another list of habits to perfect. It is a practical conversation about what you can protect, simplify or ask for, within the realities of your life.

“What would giving myself a little more care look like this week?”

04 / See what is shaping your choices

Understanding

Recognise a pattern. Make a new choice.

Some ways of coping once served an important purpose. Over time, they can become automatic: saying yes before checking your capacity, carrying everything yourself, or waiting for the perfect time to rest.

We look at these patterns with curiosity. As you understand what is happening, you can consider a different response and decide what is worth trying. This reflection stays within the scope of coaching.

“Which familiar response still helps me — and which one am I ready to reconsider?”

05 / Bring it into everyday life

Support

Take a next step with support.

Nobody blooms alone. Support is the people around you: your partner, your kids in their busy years, colleagues, friends and community, and knowing when to lean on them.

We look at who is in your corner, what you have stopped asking for, and how to let the people who love you carry some of the load. It also means recognising when a different kind of support, such as your GP or a psychologist, is the right next door.

“Who is in my corner, and what have I stopped asking for?”

A useful distinction

The method supports the conversation.
Your life sets the direction.

Tend. Anchor. Move. is the path we walk: fill your cup, steady yourself, then step forward. The Lotus Method is the map of the five areas that path crosses. We can return to any petal as your priorities change.

Start wherever you are.
